  2. 1 in 3 Europeans say US can’t be trusted: Poll – POLITICO WWW.POLITICO.EU More than 60 percent of those surveyed said the American political system is broken. Every third European now believes that it's not possible to trust the USA as an allied partner and more than 60 percent of Europeans consider the US political system as “completely” or “somewhat broken.” According to the poll, Germans were the most negative. Of those, 53% now consider that the USA is an unreliable partner. Politico reports that 81% of Britons, 71% of Germans and 66% of the French people said the US system is broken. The poll also showed that most Europeans believes that China will become more powerful than the USA within 10 years and that they want their countries and Europe to stay neutral in a potential conflict between USA and China. 15 000 people in 11 European countries participated in the European Council's foreign policy survey which was conducted in November 2020 shortly after the US presidential election.

Vaccine nationalism puts world on brink of 'catastrophic moral failure': WHO chief | Reuters WWW.REUTERS.COM The world is on the brink of "catastrophic moral failure" in sharing COVID-19 vaccines, the head of the World Health Organization said on Monday, urging countries and manufacturers to spread doses more fairly around the world. World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has bluntly denounced the selfish way that rich countries are hoarding coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine doses. The WHO chief warns that the world is on the "brink of a catastrophic moral failure" due to vaccine nationalism and that "the price of this failure will be paid with lives and livelihoods in the world's poorest countries." The WHO chief warned that the way that rich countries are jumping the queue, driving up vaccine prices, and ordering and stockpiling many times more doses than are needed to vaccinate their own populations, is a selfish and "self-defeating" approach that will ultimately "only prolong the pandemic, prolong our pain, the restrictions needed to contain it, and human and economic suffering." World facing 'catastrophic moral failure' on vaccines: WHO chief NEWS.YAHOO.COM The world is on the brink of a "catastrophic moral failure" if rich countries hog Covid-19 vaccine doses while the poorest suffer, the head of the WHO said Monday. As an example, 39 million doses of the vaccine had been administered so far in at least 49 rich countries while "just 25 doses have been given in one lowest income country. Not 25 million; not 25,000; just 25," the WHO chief said. He also voiced strong criticism against the vaccine manufacturers for lobbying national governments in rich countries to rush the regulatory approval of the various vaccines instead of submitting their data to the WHO for an approval to use the vaccines globally. "The situation is compounded by the fact that most manufacturers have prioritized regulatory approval in rich countries where the profits are highest, rather than submitting full dossiers to WHO," he said.

Arrested Trump supporters say they were ‘listening’ to the president

Jenna Ryan, a Texas real estate broker who took a private jet to Washington to join the attack on the US Capitol, has pleaded with Donald Trump to pardon her after she was arrested by federal authorities.

After surrendering to the FBI on Friday, Ryan said: “We all deserve a pardon.”

“I’m facing a prison sentence,” she told CBS11 at her home. “I think I do not deserve that.”

So, it seems at least one person working for law enforcement was fired as a result of the #capitolriot. Although, the person fired was just the spokesman for a small sheriff's office in Franklin county, Ohio. And he was fired for posting a message on Facebook in which he voiced criticism at the police who were taking selfies with the #capitolmob

As pro-Trump protesters storm Capitol building, we can clearly see that the US is not a functioning democracy.

And just imagine how the police would act if that was a BLM protest. Now they are just standing around and letting the protesters storm the building.

  15. PlayStation 5 Fan Lottery Responsible for Noisier Consoles | Tom's Hardware WWW.TOMSHARDWARE.COM It appears that not all PS5s are made entirely equal. Sony has apparently installed cheaper fans in some PlayStation 5 consoles which is causing them to emit more noise. A French tech site uncovered this rather unethical practice after they had disassembled five different PlayStation 5 consoles and found five different fans inside. Tech site, Tom’s Hardware, writes that “this discovery is alarming” and that it puts PlayStation 5 cooling tests into question. But this is unfortunately not a new practice as companies have been using this shady practice to cut costs for years in everything from monitors to storage drives. If you feel like your new PlayStation 5 console is noisy, you can easily verify which kind of fan is installed by simply popping off the side panels.

    Overshoot Day 2017

On Augusti 22nd we hit Earth Overshoot Day. This day usually happens earlier and earlier every year, according to calculations by the American NGO Global Footprint Network. For example, Earth Overshoot Day happened on December 29th in 1970, November 4th in 1980, October 11th in 1990, September 23rd in 2000 and August 7th in 2010, and in 2019 Earth Overshoot Day happened on July 29th. But in 2020, Earth Overshoot Day didn't take place until Augusti 22nd. Analysts believe that the slight delay this year is because of the effects the coronavirus (Covid-19) has had on slowing down human activity and the global economy.
